The Fibonacci sequence is a mathematical progression of numbers expressed as Fn = Fn-1 + Fn-2 for all n>2. This means a workout that starts with low numbers of reps and builds – quickly. Popularized by an Italian mathematician around 1200 AD, this sequence of numbers remarkably describes many phenomenon in nature, mathematics, economics, biology and animal behavior. Starting with zero and one, the sequence is 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55,89,144…. For our purposes, this resulted in a sequential workout where we conducted the respective number of reps of an exercised called out by YHC. In between the first (4) sets the PAX were able to choose to run a big lap (~.25m), a smaller lap (.125m) or do ten burpees. YHC scrapped this interlude of choice as we were not making much progress on the reps. Notably nobody chose the ten burpees…. The sequence went as follows:
(0) Murder bunnies (this was a great relief to all)
(1) 1mile run (or modify distance as needed)
(1) 1-minute plank
(2) Sprints somewhere between 50 and 75ish yards
(3) Sets of 10 Merkins (see what I did there?)
(5) motivators
(8) burpees
(13) diamond push-ups
(21) Star Jumps (“superstar” as our RH PAX would say)
(34) Monkey humpers
(55) plank double shoulder taps
(89) merkins (we split these as we were running out of time)
(144) flutter kicks
We had (2) fly-overs so we added some more burpees
We ran out of time so the crowd was disappointed in that there was sadly no boat/canoe…
