Movie week continued with a Star Wars themed workout.
Warm up with SSH and Chinooks (X Wing fighter circles) Pax had brought their own stick as requested (without knowing why), so the Jedi training began with 10 Skywalker lunges each leg with light Saber, 20 lightsaber jumpovers (saber on ground), 10 Chewbacca chops each side with light Saber, 10 Kenobi kicks with Saber each leg, 10 Vader ups (V ups with Saber).
It was determined that the Padawan were far enough on their training to assist with the pending battle for the galaxy. Mosey with Saber to the galaxy that was not too far away. Which happened to be the rec centers new turf field!
Young Padawans fought the Death Star by starting in the middle of the field. 20 Merkins. Run to fight the droids on the left side of the field at each end zone and 50 yard line by completing 20 LBC’s returning to the Death Star each time to support the fight and perform 20 Merkins. Continue the fight on opposite side of the field with 20 Imperial Walkers at each end zone and 50 yard line.
During the fighting, a call would randomly go out from the commander for burpees, Kenobi kicks, Skywaker lunges, or whatever was needed to ensure the battle was won by the good guys.
To make sure there weren’t any droids on the battlefield, we ran up and down each bleacher and inspected them for the enemy. Then we swept the galaxy by sprinting from one end to the other to run off any remaining Stormtroopers. Although it can’t be confirmed, YHC is pretty sure some of the Padawan were on speeders. We could hear Darth Vader, but he wasn’t spotted.
Return to the Rebel Base for Galactic Boat/Canoe and a Millennium Falcon spelling lesson. A fun time was had by most, and no one lost an eye!
