Tha Thang:
Part 1 – Tree Relay
Partner up, matching the PAX with the most life experience (ie age) with the PAX with the least, second oldest/youngest, etc. Line up on the road to the back lot. Start at the light pole and run to tree #1. Each PAX does 1 burpee. Partner 1 holds a plank while partner 2 runs back to the light pole starting point and returns, picking up partner and both moseying to tree #2. Both pax do 2 burpees and the other partner runs to the starting pole and back. Do this for every tree on the left hand side along the road. There are a lot of trees…
Part 2: Partial Matrix
In the back lot, start at the end of the lot and run to the first island and do (1) burpee. Return to the start and then back to the second island and do (2) merkins. Back and forth, so on and so forth doing (3) jump squats at island #3, (4) flutter kicks at island #4, (5) SSH at island #5. Hold plank while pax finish. Move to second column of the lot and rinse and repeat, except apply a factor of 2X to the rep. Do it a third time and multiply by 3 for a rep count of 3, 6, 9, 12, 15. Mosey back to the flag. Strongly lament not being able to finish round 4 due to time…
Naked Moleskin:
A few PAX learned that when YCH says “not much running” the terms “not”, “much” and “running” are debatable. YHC suspected the hardest aspect of part 1 was holding the plank while your partner runs to the light pole and back – YHC was wrong, it all sucked. Betty Crocker did a good job of encouraging us to not lolly gag between sets on part 2. YHC has a strong feeling of unfinished business since we ran out of time to to the final “column” on part 2. I would not be surprised I make my way back there this evening for some closure.
COT:
We are thinking of those in our communities, workplaces and families dealing with the resurgence of COVID-19. Prayers for healing, protection and wisdom for our medical workers. Safe travel and event for all those participating in the Spartan race this weekend. Go knock-em dead.
